We love movies. And we aren’t the only ones who do, by a long shot. So Philmalot! is a way for us to share that love with each other. Especially in the local Philadelphia area. Philadelphia has a vibrant arts community. Just as enthusiastic and involved and educated as in New York or LA, even if it is smaller. We review films, preview films and by doing so, look to open the discussion with each other about the films we watch. We want to find as many people as we can who enjoy movies as much as we do.
That’s what Philmalot! is aiming to be. A channel for discussion and for finding movie friends and new cool films. A way to expand the Arts community in Philadelphia, even further.
Philmalot! won’t be just a lot of film either. We plan to highlight new and local talent in and around the Philly area, to get the word out about their work and to help new and old artists make connections with each other and with their audience. Doesn’t matter if it’s playwriting, or poetry or painting or photography. All are welcome. Music too. We hope that you, whether you’re a creator or a connoisseur of art, will use Philmalot! as a tool to get connected to the film community and the Philadelphia Arts community. And we hope you share the love.
