Welcome to the first app review for our new site! I wanted to make this one special. So I decided to write about an app that got us through the recent months worth of work we crammed into weeks. Wunderlist. Its a free To-Do list manager that is simple (and I do mean simple). But it gets the job done. no more, no less. Go figure. So let’s jump right into it!
Wunderlist main focus is simplicity with some style to match. If you only add a list from the top screen to the tasks, you’ll find it very easy to become productive. Tasks can be assigned deadlines with email and in-app notifications. You can even move a task to another list. And of course you have your important filters: Today, tomorrow, etc. One of the first things you’ll notice is how good Wunderlist looks. This is accomplished by using a modern style UI and being able to customize a wallpaper for the background, with the selection of pictures to chose from. You even have the ability to share lists with people which did a lot of good for the Philmalot Admins here.
Speaking of lists, making lists and the tasks that goes onto them are extremely easy. Which in turn makes it very quick to put down a task that comes to mind. Did you know: That the average human brain can only hold about 7 tasks in memory? That means any tasks in excess of 7 at a time, will be forgotten. Now if you are someone who can’t even remember what you had for breakfast (you know who you are) then that “7″ number goes down drastically. Its understandable, the world we live in now is fast paced and filled with stress. You’re gonna forget something if you don’t write it down. So you see how important it is to get those tasks, ideas and projects out your head. Quick and easy.
And sometimes you may just need that extra pair of hands to get tasks done. That’s where the sharing lists comes in at. The initial process can only be done from the web app at the moment. And I hope this gets upgraded soon for mobile apps. When highlighting a list you will see a group icon. Clicking on that will advance you to the sharing option. Then just type in the email address and your done. If the recipient doesn’t have an account with Wunderlist, then that sharing invite becomes a normal invite to join.
One of the greatest things about Wunderlist is that you can use it on pretty much every platform: Android, iOS, Windows, Mac, and Blackberry. Even Linux got some Wunderlist love! And its Syncing ability is first rate. you can create a list on your laptop and finish it on your tablet then leave and update it on your smart phone with no problems.
For the average person needing to get themselves organized, this is the app to try. Check out the site and download your preferred apps. It couldn’t hurt seeing that this is a free service.
Lets us know what you think. Does it feel simple for you? Or does it hit all the right spots?
